Ballou experiences

Well the school year is almost over, talk about a fast school year. Ballou has been a great experience. I am doing academically well in all of my classes. All of my classes have been very funny because of all the people arguing, talking about other people, or just being themselves. There has been a lot of things happening at Ballou, both good and bad. The good things are that I made some new friends, I made student of the month in two of classes, and the teachers are very happy to have me. The bad things are that first, there has been a total of at least 6-9 fires happened at Ballou since school started. Second, I almost got jumped, but I was able to push all of that in the past and continue on with my future. I was on the honor for the first semester, which has advisory 1&2. I am hoping that I make the honor roll list this advisory.

This summer at the Sharp Program I have learn a lot of new things that I have never done before. My class did was go to and art galleries and we had to fine pictures and did rhyming, writing, mural art, go on trips. We also had a surprised cookout that we didn't no about it was a lot of food there. Then after that for the first time they let us go in the Green House. It was all hot in there. I was books in there that wasn't being used. It was just messes. So what we was doing in there was taking out somethings so people can us them for the next year.

S.H.A.R.P. Visits 106 & Park

On July 30, 2009, the S.H.A.R.P program went to New York city to see a live show called 106 & Park. The trip took about four hours to get there. While we were up there we had so much fun. Some of the people in the program didn't get to be on TV, but the experience was really good. Rocsi had a breakthrough on national TV and began crying. The topic was about body issues, and how people don't like things about themselves like their teeth, or their complexion. Rocsi was brave enough to talk about the problems she experienced back in high school. By sharing her problems, she helped others by telling them that everyone is beautiful, and you should love your body the way it is, and never let anyone tell you different.
